Kodak Black is a South Florida Rapper.

In February of 2024, a Federal Judge freed Kodak Black from jail after he was given credit for time served on a probation violation.

Black is still being prosecuted for a 2022 drug dealing charge.

The drug possession charge was dismissed because Black aka Bill Kapri had a prescription for oxycodone that had been filled by a pharmacy.

Kapri had been found asleep in his vehicle in December of 2023 with a white powder in his mouth.

The initial police testing of the powder rendered a positive for cocaine.

Subsequent testing showed it was oxycodone which he had a prescription for since July of 2022.

This arrest was seen as a probation violation for his unrelated drug trafficking charge in Miami.

Kapri ended up spending two months in jail due to this mix-up by police.

Laine Hardy won the American Idol contest in 2019, Season 17.

Hardy unfortunately made the news in April of 2022 by being investigated by the Louisiana State University Police.

At the time of this blog post the basis for this investigation had not been released.

According to the media, Hardy had been fully cooperative with the police.

In my experience, you should never talk with police when you are the subject of the investigation.

Attempting to prove your innocence is always an iffy matter and you usually just make things worse especially if you are innocent.

Hardy told his Facebook audience that an warrant had been issued for him.

Anytime one is contacted by police, one should say “I want a Lawyer.”

That phrase is the only statement that cannot be used against you and should end the interrogation.

Police are not required to testify to all the things you say that indicate your innocence.

The prosecution will only use your statement that seem to indicate guilty.
